So much of me invisibly lies in the tapes and photographs my family kept over the years. Some of them go back to the 1980s, others even earlier, and they’ve naturally picked up signs of age. When I started digitizing them, I realized how much they hold, in the small details. How my family moved through Pakistan’s military love affairs, right wing radicalization and contained with in all that, the moments of fear and resistance. The emotional weather of those years help me understand my nani and the histories I’ve inherited.
